My Specialties:Science and Technology
Physics…Computers…Aerospace…

Physics
My interest in physics developed as a child when I saw a show on PBS about Einstein’s theories of relativity. I didn’t understand it, but I thought it was the coolest thing in (and out of) the world. I went on to get a degree in physics and teach high school science for over a decade. As a result, I am comfortable with scientific concepts and language, and quite good at putting scientific ideas into terms nonscientific people can understand.
Computers
I got my first computer when I was in junior high, farther back than I care to remember and long enough ago that the computer hooked up to a TV. I’ve been involved with them ever since. Over the years I’ve been the official–and unofficial–tech support guy for a number of organizations for many different applications and platforms. Mac, Windows, even some Unix/Linux… As a result, I’m completely comfortable working with technology and writing about technological issues.
Aerospace
I will admit to no professional experience in the aerospace industry. (Well, in college I was an assistant in the paint shop of a travel club that had its own fleet of airplanes, but that hardly counts.) But aircraft and spacecraft have always held a special fascination for me, and I’ve followed the industry closely from my youth. Explaining the technology of the aerospace industry to nontechnical audiences can be daunting. Let me help.
