There are big problems in the world of energy: Energy demands are increasing all over the world, conventional sources are getting scarce, and traditional production methods are causing great harm to our environment. The solution? Renewable and sustainable energy sources.

We’re running out of oil. There’s just no getting around it. But a lot of exciting work is being done in the fields of renewable and sustainable energy generation. From wind energy to solar energy, ocean wave power generation to biodiesel, the possibilities for our energy future are exploding! Recycling and resource management

Sometimes the solution is not other ways to meet resource needs. Sometimes the solution is better management of the resources we have. Instead of finding more energy sources, for example, it can be better to reduce the need in the first place.

Consider the heating and cooling of homes. Keeping traditional houses warm in the winter and cool in the summer consumes a tremendous amount of energy. What if, in stead, we built houses with highly energy efficient materials, and in ways that reduce energy needs? An extra thick, highly insulated wall and an extended eave can go a long way in saving energy.
