Comment Policy

no spam comment policy
Okay, so this isn’t a hugely trafficked blog that gets tons of comments. I know that. So you think I’d be glad for any comments that do get posted, right? Well, no.

The idea behind commenting on a post is to add something to the discussion. You have another point of view you want to share, or you have more information that other readers may find valuable–stuff like that. If you’re just posting a comment to get a backlink and grab some linkjuice for your own website, that’s not cool. That’s abusing the comment system and the rel=dofollow policy this site employs.

So, while I’ll appreciate the kind words if you’re being sincere, “Great post!” won’t cut it anymore. Nor will “Keep it up!” and “Good information!” If you really want to send me these kind words, drop me an email or DM me on Twitter. Because the comment is going to get deleted.

And don’t try to fake that you read or viewed the post either with a “thoughtful” question like “Can you explain more about that last part? I didn’t understand it,” either.

Oh, and use your real name. Or at least any real name. Because I know your name is not “Refinanced Mortgages” and you don’t really expect your friends to send you email at rrfjkhgfjjsiiuuyyu3487563474755447fsddskjfhh@refinanceyourmortgagetheeasywaytoday.com.

Also, standard comment expectations apply: Keep it clean. Be polite. No personal attacks. You know, all the good manners you learned in kindergarten.

I do want visitors to leave comments. I really do. But I want them to be comments that other readers–and I, myself–can learn something from or think more about. Thanks for understanding.
